Smart City
KBTU is implementing courses and projects in Smart City concept areas. Within the framework of the UN SDGs “11 - Sustainable Cities and Settlements”, “9 - Industrialization, Innovation and Infrastructure”, since 2022, KBTU has been operating the Smart City Laboratory, created jointly with the Digitalization Department of the Almaty Akimat and IGLUS companies (Switzerland). On the basis of the laboratory, trainings were held to improve the skills of employees of the Akimat of Almaty, the Urban Development Department of Almaty and representatives of other companies and government agencies involved in the creation of a Smart City in Almaty. The KBTU Smart City Laboratory plans to conduct trainings annually for representatives of companies interested in gaining practical knowledge on planning smart cities, power grids and other modules.
